"Shonen Jump+ Celebrates 10th Anniversary with One-Shot Anime Adaptations"

Shonen Jump+, the online manga platform from the folks at Shueisha, celebrated its first decade of existence last September. Now it has announced that three celebrated anime studios will produce anime adaptations of some of its one-shot manga titles.

Said studios are Contrail, Production I.G and Wit Studio, each of which will animate a one-shot published in the, uh, virtual pages of Shonen Jump+. No word on which studio is handling which one-shot yet.

The whole thing is being led by JOEN, the company established by CloverWorks, Wit, Shueisha and Aniplex back in 2022.

The official comment released about the project reads, in part:

Shonen Jump+ has published a large number of one-shot manga: over 2,000. Why so many? There are many reasons, but one of them is that we want to discover the talents of manga artists. Many new artists have tried their hand at one-shots and have shared their pure feelings and passion for manga. Now, that talent will be further polished by the talents of the animation world, and by powerful studios, no less. The resulting animation is sure to be great!
